I tried the Wim Hof Breathing & Cold Therapy Method for 7 Days | Sorelle Amore

♪ Ice ice baby ♪ – Seven days of intense
breathing exercises and cold showers. Joy! (screaming) The Wim Hof method is an extreme method which pushes the limits
of what we have previously believed possible for the human body. It incorporates breathing exercises, cold therapy, some stretching, strength-building
exercises, and mindfulness. I decided to trial this
because I get bored of normal exercises and I
like to push the human body to see what it’s capable of. All these benefits listed on the websites, I was like, well, why not? I live in Iceland, the land of the ice and freezing cold lakes. My feet are in pain! And maybe because it’s just
like a natural progression from the things that I
already do in my spare time in Iceland, bikini in the snow, my nude versus nature photos. And here’s a very quick demonstration so you guys have an idea of what we’re talking about in this video. So here I’m doing the breathing exercises. I’m breathing in really heavily and letting the air escape naturally without pushing it, about 30 times or until my body starts
getting a little bit tingly. Once I’m at that point,
I then exhale completely in my last breath, and I
hold whilst timing this. Once I’ve reached my maximum,
I then take a big breath in, hold it for about 15 seconds,
and then release once again. And then you repeat the cycle
about three or four times. My starting point, I’m 28
years old, I’m healthy, I haven’t been vigorously exercising for about a year and a half. The same day that I
started the Wim Hof method, I also took up yoga, and I found an app that guides me through exercise, about 30 minutes a day. So I started this all at the same time. A bit of a keen bean. Just a word of warning, I’m
obviously brand new to this so I pretty much suck at it, so do your own research before
trying the Wim Hof method because it can be very dangerous
if you don’t do it right. ♪ Ice ice baby ♪ Day One, I ended up with 57
seconds on the first round, and one minute and 53
seconds for the last round. Not amazing today, I
went to bed really late, woke up really early, maybe
that just threw me off. But anyway, it’s okay, I still did it, I’m still glad I did it. It’s going okay, I’m not
progressing massively, but I’m still seeing a bit of progress. I’m having my cold showers
every morning, it’s not bad. A side effect, I’m hot all day. Two interesting things happened this day, I got extreme ringing in my
ears, and after some research figured out that this has
actually happened to a few people and they just recommended
to ease off a little bit. Secondly, when I finally took
my breath on the final round, I just got this strange weird feeling, I guess this is what
they call the trippiness. I just had this immense gratitude for life and I also said out
loud, “Please be alive.” Some people have mentioned that they get into like hallucination
states and natural DOP levels. There is an improvement, it’s not huge, like lots of people have that there, but I do consider myself to
have quite weak lungs anyway. So I feel like I’m doing alright, even if it’s tiny progress. ♪ Ice ice baby ♪ Twenty normally done. (coughing) Thirty, And then the trusty old cold showers. The idea of a cold shower,
I didn’t really like it. It turns out, that it
wasn’t as bad as I thought. Water was cold, I did
my breathing exercises just before I got in the shower. Wow, my skin is cold, but I’m warm inside. What! And now, doing these cold
showers for seven days, I actually think I enjoy that component most out of everything else. – (Boyfriend) How’s that? – It’s fine. I’m not afraid of winter! – (Boyfriend) That really proves that on a minute by minute basis, we’re taking nowhere near
enough oxygen into our lungs. We’re just taking in just what we need for our bodies to survive, not for what it needs to thrive. ♪ Ice ice baby ♪ – (Boyfriend) The things I do for you. – First he had a shock to his system, he lies down, he’s like agh, oh my god. And I didn’t have that at all. His hands and feet were out, I was like put your hands and feet in. Within seconds, his feet were hurting, whereas me, I didn’t feel anything, and I was in there
probably for three minutes, and I was fine. And I am scared of the cold,
I get cold immediately. So it works! That’s so freaking exciting! ♪ Ice ice baby ♪ Yes. I want to do the
ten-week online course, and see where that takes me. And then at the end of the year, I want to do the six day
retreat with Wim Hof, exercising in the snow and doing all of his extreme techniques out in the actual freezing cold. One of my crazy goals is
to swim in a glacier lake in just a little bikini. It is an extreme method,
but the bottom line is it’s just a method to
make you more mindful of your breathing and health. That’s it! It doesn’t
have to be this method, it can be whatever else you want. But it’s just down to your
own personal preference. Follow me on my social channels, so you guys can keep up with the progress. And until next time, I’ll
see you guys when I see ya. Bye! (screaming) Just kidding! (murmurs in Icelandic) (laughs)

  1. I think this method puts you into a state similar to transcendental meditation. It is merely intense focus on breathing and then lowering your heartbeat, lopwering the amount of energy your body needs, and the amount of oxygen, then, holding your breath for as long as you can. during this time, you can disconnect from your mind, and go into the you that asks the mind to think. the you that the mind is thinking for, you are outside your mind, and outside your emotions, outside of all those processes, that is the real you. I hear it takes a extremely long time to reach the point of complete withdrawl back into the most quiet part of you.

  2. You are doing the WHM breathing incorrectly. You were only doing shallow abdominal breathing with your chest barely expanding until you took the deep breath after the breath retention. You are supposed to be doing full belly and chest breathing (Wim says all the way up into your head) the whole time.

  3. Is the twerking a side effect of the Wim Hof method? Asking for a friend (who is also absolutely sh!t at it)… 🤣

  4. As someone that always used to take a hot shower, taking a Cold one for the first time felt.. how can i say, very different. It was very hard entering the cold shower but once i left the shower i felt good through the day, as you said, a sensation of warmth and somehow dunno, it just feels nice.

I also did the Breathing exercise and i got the same results as you in terms of push ups, from 20 to 30 on my first try.
It's crazy how effective this Breathing method is.

Btw nice video, pretty entertaining to see your experience with the Wim Hof method.

  5. i held my breath for 2:27 minutes on the first round…you need to exhale slower and don't exhale fully

  6. Ever since I was a kid my skin has been either cold and I feel warm or after exercise I'm a living volcano and everyone likes to side beside me in the winter.

  7. So Wim Hoff method is basically doing Kapal Bhati in Shavasna and bath only with normal or cold water what my grandfather used to tell me and I do bath with cold water. Nice. Love and cheers from India.

  8. I stay way too hot for hours on end, so I've backed off a bit. Can't do this before bed, can't meditate before bed either. Too much energy in the body

  9. Thanks to a very toothy oral interaction last night, I'm unable to fully appreciate this video. You might be the best looking woman alive. Oh and the method; It's amazing and life-altering. As a child, I fell through an old bridge and went through the ice. The incident was scary, I was almost unable to claw my small body out of that frozen hole. In the end, I felt baptized through ice, as if I had been reborn. I was always attracted to the cold, I would even do ice swims without any breathing exercises. I would simply breathe slowly and suppress my need hyperventilate. The Wim Hof experience makes it far safer and more enjoyable to experience that primitive aspect of life. I mean it's part of my life now, and I do it basically every morning. But seriously sweetheart, marry me. Whatever your boyfriend does, I can do more and make more. I'm half kidding, but very cool video.

  10. Hi Sorelle. Are you still doing the breathing exercises and the cold showers? Please can you update🙂. P. S. I love your energy and work. Lots of love from our little family❤️

  11. I did the breathing method. On the second week i held my breath for 4 minutes. I love it. I haven’t done the cold showers.

  12. I'm freezing in air conditioning in Florida (public places etc.) have started to bring in cold water to my shower but only the last few minutes of my shower because I could never shave in cold water. Wondering if you're shaving in cold water? So do the goosebumps go away after a while? trying to understand, thank u

  13. I did the Wim Hof method and died after day 3. I’m in heaven right now. The internet speed is insane here!

  14. Thank you very much! Yours was one of the videos that got me into Win Hof, and out of having undiagnosed flu symptoms on a daily to weekly basis! All the best until the next, and it's nice to fly! 😁

  15. Icelandic woman living in Sweden over here!! I love swimming in cold sea. Love this video, will definitely try this, you are beautiful 🙂

  16. Oh man. I was a freshman in high school when "Ice Ice Baby" came out.
I always said if I ever hear that song again it will be too soon. And it is. It will ALWAYS be too soon.
That said, I will sacrifice for the Sorelle. Always the Sorelle.

  17. Doing the cold showers each day due no-fapp community challenge for years!! Yes, i know… Long time. I noticed myself the part where the water is cold and the body is hot, it happen lately because i gradually progressed through the volume of cold water, rather then suddenly dive in the shower… The problem is that in the summer the water is not that cold, but a little in the morning or so. In the winter it was so cold it felt like your bones would fall of and the skin would get bruises and blisters and sometimes could not stay under the stream more then 20 seconds. I think i can get used to it, especially that probably by now i developed brown fat. I am interested in the method, although i did meditation based on breathing, so i might as well do the method from time to time. Held the breath 1st time for 1:07 minutes. Jogging in the morning might help oxygenate the body as well. Swim into the glacier lake. You can do it!!
PS. Could it be that exposure to cold make exposure to heat less tolerable? I noticed i don't need many clothes in the winter, and in the summer i get really hot

  18. I've conditioned my mind and body for extreme cold as well. I can funnel a six pack of near freezing beers in seconds.

  19. Что здесь такого, у нас люди в России давно привыкшие к такому, и купаемся в озерах при -30C -40C градусов.

  20. I've met a similar method in the past, very good what Wim introduces, as well as Koichi Tohei, http://www.shinichitohei.com/english/2006/08/ki-breathing-by.html

  21. Hi! I have removed my thyroid and i am trying to get pregnant. What is the proper TSH values so that i can get pregnant but be safe as well? If i take supplements or multivitamins does it affect my TSH?

  22. Hey I’m on day 15 with those called five minute showers in the deep breathing, you encourage me/even yesterday when I was about to start the ice cold shower I said to myself if she can do it I can do it if she can do it I can do it if she can do it I could do it so thank you so much for your encouragement and sharing big love

  23. was it the cold showers that started the ear ringing I'm assuming and not the deep breathing? some are arguing NOT… but how can they?

  24. cool video, thanks 🙂 i have been taking cold showers for one year now and this year i started to swim outside in beijing – so far water temperature: 5 degree C.

  25. I've been taking cold showers for 5 months now, i've done the breathing on and off (i struggle with being patient enough to do it for too many rounds), i've read Scott Carney's book….i stil don't understand when we are supposed to be getting warmer. Is it just because of the cold exposure that one starts generating more heat (with brown fat) ? Is it during the breathing ? or the retention with empty lungs ? or the squeezing with the lungs full that comes afterwards ? Thank you for your video, it's inspiring ! Maybe when the water gets cold enough i'll start seeing the results.

PS : To all the creepy guys in the comment section ; you need to grow up.
